We’ve recently had the pleasure to work on the Pioneer exhibition at National Trust’s Gunby Hall, Lincolnshire. The artistic group CommanAs and the National Trust commissioned a contemporary art installation with the purpose of celebrating the life of Emily Massingberd. Emily Massingberd founded the Pioneer Club which advocated the political and moral evaluation of women. Pioneer was one of the first and most powerful progressive women’s clubs in the UK.
The brief for the art installation was to channel Emily’s unconventionality, energy and motivations into signage and literature. We had a lot of fun designing the cocktail and mocktail menu, internal signage, fold out commemorative leaflet and external signage for the event.
